[RANT] Of weight and diet
07032015 - Personally, I gained tremendous weight since I graduated, but then, I realised that even though I gained weight, surprisingly, I began to change not only in size, but in other ways too. I became very particular in choosing my cloth (so i started wearing blouse, adding accessories, rather than the usual all-black-and-dull outfit I wore before). I have so many shoes, and I started to love nailart. At the same time, I started eating healthy too - not as a part of diet, but to ensure that I can still maintain my health even though I am in this size.
However, it hurt me when a friend of mine started her "diet regime" and said she doesn't want to be fat LIKE ME. She even laughed and happily reported it to me when people refer me as "your friend, the one which is of bigger size than you" - seems like she's happy that at least people think that she is of smaller size than me (when the truth is she used to wear M but now can't fit an L anymore but she is in denial) These days, I try to not talk to her because the only thing she talks about is "ah, I'm getting fatter!" "today I have shed some sweat so I guess I lost a few KGs already" So I rather not talk to her, in case I might say something mean lol.
Why do people always comment on your size, especially when you haven't met each other for a long time? You can ask about their happiness, about their job, about their well-being, but why started a conversation with "wow, you've gained weight!". How do you feel when your friend came visit you when you are sick and said "wow, you're dying!"
I am sorry for ranting like this, but I feel like writing it here after reading some blogs on how people feel bad because they were called names because of their size, skin colour, etc. People always wonder why some people are anti-social - I'd rather be anti-social, living under the rock rather than going out to socialise but ended up being called names.Labels: RANTS
